Salary range - Registered Nurse level 1: $42 to $56 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus superannuation (11.5%) and other benefits
  
About the Opportunity:

St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital (SATH) has exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated recently graduated Registered Nurses to join our Medical and Surgical Wards for our supported Direct Entry Pathway Program. This Direct Entry Pathway Program will include the opportunity to attend tailored professional development sessions coupled with a reflective and collaborative cohort of like-minded recently graduated colleagues. 

About you:

You are a passionate, dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse seeking a fulfilling career opportunity in a renowned regional private hospital.  You enjoy working in a fast-paced, welcoming, supportive and progressive team where you will draw on your abilities to provide excellent care and service to our patients.

You have obtained your registration in the last 12 months or are due to graduate mid-year and are looking for a supported entry into the acute care setting. 

Role Accountabilities:

  • Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to patients, promoting both physical and emotional well-being. As a member of the multidisciplinary team use critical assessments skills to ensure the delivery of comprehensive patient centred care. 
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work seamlessly with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes and participate actively in rounds, contributing valuable insights and fostering open communication among team members.
  • Communication: foster effective communication within the healthcare team, ensuring that relevant information is shared in a timely manner and communicate with patients and families with empathy and professionalism.
  • Patient and Family Education: Empower patients and their families through clear and accessible education about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care and offer guidance on self-care practices and assist in navigating the healthcare journey.
  • Exceptional Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to rigorous documentation standards and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements, contributing to the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care.

Your experience and skills:

  • Willingness to obtain a high level of clinical competence in an acute setting
  • Well-developed communication skills to convey complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner with an ability to negotiate and influence 
  • Excellent team building skills and capabilities 
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload demands
  • Effective problem-solving skills and an ability to make timely and informed decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practice and critical thinking
  • Willingness to learn and develop your nursing skills in a fast paced environment with the support of an amazing team

Mandatory Qualification/Professional Registration/Other Requirements:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) 
  • Available to work morning, afternoon and night shifts in a 24/7 period (rotating roster).
  • Engagement is subject to the applicant fully satisfying the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements and evidence must be produced as part of the recruitment process.
