An opportunity now exists for a Director Community Development to join the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on a full time basis to collaboratively deliver on the strategic direction of the council and support the ongoing development of the team.
The Role
Reporting through to the CEO your responsibilities will include:
- Building community capacity, creating public good and improving the quality of life for the PAE community
- Overseeing all aspects of the Community Development Division, including, Community Development, Building & Planning Services, Libraries & Community Learning, Community & Environmental Health and Waste Services
- Navigating a complex regulatory environment and exercising sound judgement and strategic decision making
- Providing inspirational leadership across the organisation that is aligned to the organisational values and delivers on the City Vision goals & objectives
- Promoting and delivering exceptional customer experience
- Contributing to a cohesive, brave and future focused Executive Leadership Team
- Building effective and constructive relationships with Elected Members to deliver on Council’s strategies and directions
- Managing complex strategic and political relationships through liaison with appropriate State, Federal and non-government sector agencies
You’ll be an authentic, inspirational, and transformational leader who operates with a high level of empathy and openness to ideas and diversity. You’ll have significant experience working at a leadership level within a large and complex environment and you’ll be driven to build constructive and collaborative relationships both internally and externally. Your strong political and commercial acumen, coupled with your exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills will allow you to strategically execute and deliver on major change initiatives.
Above all, you’ll lead with humility, and you’ll be focused on developing, motivating and coaching individuals to ensure that they reach their full potential and truly embody the community centric values of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
