Details: Wanted: Critical thinker with experience in infrastructure who wants to contribute to making Canberra a great, vibrant city.

We’re looking for a senior officer with great collaboration and analytic skills to join our small, dynamic Project Development team.

Major Projects Canberra is responsible for procuring and delivering infrastructure projects designated as ‘major projects’ as well as delivering ACT Government infrastructure projects in partnership with other directorates.

The Project Development team works across all ACT Government directorates to support early-stage development of infrastructure projects, typically up to funding decision of Government. Project include some of Canberra’s largest, city-changing projects. The team also provides strategic policy advice and analysis to the Major Projects Canberra Executive and to Ministers in support of infrastructure planning across the ACT.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Desirable:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications complimentary to the role: for example, financial, economics, business and/or relevant infrastructure related fields.
  • Skills associated with producing graphics and mapping in support of planning for and describing infrastructure (Construction) projects
  • An understanding of the requirements for procurement, program management and contract management of consultants in the early stages of infrastructure development

Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
