What you'll be doingDirector Paediatric Gait Analysis Serviceof NSW, incorporating the Humpty Dumpty Paediatric Gait Analysis Laboratory will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care teams and consumers of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital to effectively deliver services. The director will also liaise with the division of research at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in the effective and timely utilisation of this resource so as to maximise both the clinical and research opportunities.
Director Paediatric Gait Analysis Serviceof NSW, incorporating the Humpty Dumpty Paediatric Gait Analysis Laboratory will provide role modelling, mentorship and leadership in the achievement of excellence in clinical practice, ensuring that Departmental:
  • Resources are focussed on delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families.
  • Research and teaching is at a high standard.
  • Maintain the technical standards of the lab, using international best practice
  • Plans are congruent with financial resources
  • Ensure equitable management of the waiting list, and access based on clinical priority
  • Activities include advocacy for children and the clinical service.
  • Quality activities are implemented and a collaborative culture is developed with staff, VMOs and consumers.
  • Liaise with Donor supporters as required
  • Maintain lines of communication with external users of the service
  • Provide direct management to the staff of the Motion Analysis Service
  • Doctoral degree or equivalent experience in clinical biomechanics or relevant discipline
  • Broad understanding of the technical requirement for the motion analysis lab
  • Experience in clinical health service delivery at a tertiary level
  • Awareness of the NSW Health structures in both the clinical and research arena
  • Strong track record in research and publication
  • An ability to promote research and obtain grants
  • Demonstrated ability to a manage a department, including budget management
  • Demonstrated ability in service planning and governance
