About the role 🔎

As the Director of Software - Data Systems, the chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in refining and executing the strategic vision for Emesent's cutting-edge data processing and visualisation solutions. They will collaborate closely with Product Management, Senior Management, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure alignment with business goals, customer needs, and industry trends. Their leadership will drive the creation of groundbreaking solutions that solidify Emesent's position as an industry leader in spatial data and analytics.

Key Responsibilities 💼
 

• Refining and leading the implementation of the strategic vision for Emesent's data processing and visualisation solutions.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals, customer needs, and industry trends.
• Providing technical leadership and driving the development of technology architecture and strategies.
• Managing and leading the Data Systems group, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Directing and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of high-quality solutions.
• Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Evaluating and recommending software tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance the software development process.
• Establishing and enforcing software development best practices to uphold the highest levels of Software quality and maintainability.
• Monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics, utilizing data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
   

Skills & Qualifications 🎯

• A degree in engineering, data science, computer science, or relevant field.
• 7+ years of experience in spatial data processing and analysis, 3D visualization, GIS software, or data platforms.
• Prior experience in designing, building, and delivering innovative data software.
• Excellent technical knowledge about system engineering and software architecture.
• Proven experience in engineering management and building high-performing teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Customer-focused with experience working with external stakeholders.
• Innovative and passionate about solving big problems through breakthrough technologies.
