Your opportunity

Use your significant experience, leadership and management skills to achieve quality educational outcomes in this dual purpose role.  The Director of Studies responsibilities involve leading the development, implementation and evaluation of a high quality ELICOS curriculum and the achievement of quality educational outcomes, through excellence in teaching and learning. The substantive part of the role, in terms of time, is as senior ELICOS Teacher in a small ELICOS Centre with one other teacher and a teacher aide. As Director of Studies you will form part of the College's Middle Management team and be responsible for the maintenance of all accreditation requirements by NEAS and under CRICOS legislation. You will report to the Head of  International College and work closely with the Deputy Principal – Curriculum in regard to student preparedness and transition into the secondary school classes.

As the senior ELICOS Teacher, a substantive part of the role will be in teaching students who are preparing for entry into the secondary classrooms.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated successful strategic leadership in a similar school environment with a focus on achieving excellent student learning outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills resulting in the achievement of the vision and strategic goals
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage and develop stakeholder relationships, including managing overseas parent concerns and agents
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NEAS accreditation requirements and ELICOS programs and their management within a complex educational environment
  • Highly developed classroom teaching skills
  • Queensland College of Teachers registration
  • Demonstrated ability to implement information and communication technology into teaching and learning
  • Well developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills as evidenced by a record of achievement in the solution of complex problems within a competitive environment.
