Duties
  • Work effectively as a member of the Industry, Insights and Workforce and Skills and Workforce senior leadership team.
  • Implement the Industry Skills Compacts and lead the client engagement for skills and workforce development across key sectors in Tasmania.
  • Plan, organise and execute events related to workforce development, skills training and industry engagement including training awards, conferences, seminars and workshops to implement matters arising from the Industry Skills Compacts
  • Build a team that can support Tasmania’s key sectors and provide advice on workforce matters including referral of services across the Department that focus on business assistance.
  • Develop strong relationships across Skills Tasmania to provide advice to government on complex issues and policy considerations.
  • Ensure ongoing and meaningful engagement with the relevant Jobs and Skills Councils.
  • Develop insights and action plans to support industry and inform policy development, enabling informed decisions to support workforce planning and ensure workforce strategies remain aligned with labour market dynamics and emerging skills requirements.
  • Provide credible, expert and strategic advice on complex matters relating to industry skills, training and workforce development, policies and legislation to the Senior Director, General Manager, Deputy Secretary, Secretary and intergovernmental stakeholders.
Desirable Requirements
  • Completion of a relevant tertiary or industry qualification
