About Dandelion House:
- Dandelion House is an accredited NDIS Disability Service Provider, operating in Newcastle, Maitland, and Dubbo regions. We provide supported independent living (SIL) style accommodation to people with a disability. About this Role:
- We are looking for passionate and resilient people to join our team and help support our clients to build their social and independent living skills.
- This role will be situated in the Newcastle and East Maitland area, working across a 24/7 roster which could include mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrate person centred care principles.
- Managing emotions and challenging behaviours.
- Administrative duties i.e., shifts notes and reports.
- Provide direct care and support to people with a disability with all activities of daily living which may include domestic duties, personal care, social support, medication assistance, manual handling, transport, meals and attending appointments.
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all key stakeholders; clients, families, guardians, and involved services.
Essential Criteria:
- Current unrestricted driver’s license.
- Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current NDIS worker check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable vehicle with current registration and comprehensive car insurance that you are willing to use to transport Clients.
- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Smart Phone.
Desired Criteria:
- Relevant industry qualification.
- Experience working in the community services sector.
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with Mental Health, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
