About the role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Disability Support Worker for our participants in Narre Warren and surrounding areas.
Your responsibilities as a Disability Support Worker will be to provide in home support and community participation for our NDIS participants. Our participants require services include assisting with self-care activities, complex care, household tasks, community participation, personal care and transport.
Key responsibilities:
- Full assistance with personal and complex care
- Assisting and supporting participants in their home
- Supporting the participant in achieving their needs and goals for the day
- Providing true and authentic companionship to the participant
- Household tasks and meal preparation
- Building on individual strengths and enabling participants to reach their goals
- Skill development activities with the participants in their home
- Support clients in community participation and social activities
- Assist with mobility aids, transfers, and positioning
Skills and experience:
- Current Police Check
- Valid Australian Driver's License and access to a car
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance (or willing to obtain)
- Administration of medication training (or willing to obtain)
- Certificate III Individual Support / Community Services or Certificate IV Disability or other relevant qualifications or experience
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in providing Disability Supports
