Job Description:
We are actively looking for experienced, skilled, and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing compassionate assistance to individuals with diverse and complex support needs, involving personal care, household tasks, and community engagement. Your responsibilities will extend to facilitating participants in acquiring independent living skills, thereby enhancing their quality of life within both home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide support with household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
- Assist clients in accessing the community and participating in social and recreational activities.
- Administer medication and provide basic first aid when required.
- Work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other service providers to develop and implement individual support plans.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.
- Implementation of positive behaviour support plans.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certificate III or above in Individual Support or other relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in providing individual support.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
- A current NDIS Worker Check
- Valid driver's license
- Completion of NDIS modules
- Completed manual handling training and possess a relevant certificate.
- Mental Health First Aid certification is highly desirable.
