Better Lifestyle For You is looking for support workers within the Berwick area for morning, afternoon and anight shift.
The role may involve:
• Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
• Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
• Assist participants to develop and maintain life/skills and/or pre-vocational skill sets as identified in their NDIS plan
• Transportation and supporting social engagement
• Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Cert III Individual Support (Disability) equivalent or higher
• Professional or lived experience supporting and/or caring for a person with a disability
• Help increase their independence
• Experience using a Hoist, or with Epilepsy Management
• Experience supporting people with Mental Health and Complex Behaviours
• Flexible availability & a long-term commitment to Better Lifestyle For You
Essential criteria:
- English first language
• An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centred support
• Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
• A valid Australian driver's licence and a reliable registered vehicle
• Current Police Check
• First Aid Certificate including CPR
• Excellent communication skills
• A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities
• The legal right to work in Australia
