About us

Enable Opportunities is a disability support organisation based in Alice Springs looking for quality support workers who value continuity of support. We have a person-centred approach, and our focus is to match our participants with support workers who they will be able to form a great relationship with to achieve their goals.

Successful applicants will require flexible availability, including mornings, afternoons, nights, sleepovers and weekends. 

We value our support workers and understand the importance of a good work/life balance therefore, we work closely with our staff to ensure they are happy within the workplace.

Qualifications & experience

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent required
  • NDIS worker orientation module
  • Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded -  ASD, Down Syndrome, Mental health, Personal care, Medication management, hoisting, enteral feeding, and stoma care.
  • Current First aid & CPR
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current national police check (or willing to obtain)
  • Open Driver licence 
  • Access to a smartphone

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Individualised community-based support
  • Support & skill building in home and in the community
  • Working with participants to develop independence and daily living skills
  • Providing personal care to participants
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of a person-centred team
  • Assist with medications and other duties as specified per the participant support plan
  • Maintain participant records to ensure consistent and quality care
  • Actively contribute to a team environment through open communication, participation in regular staff meetings, planning and reviews
  • Be adaptable to changing circumstances and being able to prioritise work
  • Display a client-focused and person-centred manner
  • Assessing clients' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs
  • Interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients
  • Assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services
  • Supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions
  • Assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems
Remuneration
  • $60,000 - $80,000 per annum + super
Licence/Certification
  • First Aid Certification 
  • Working with Children Check 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check 
  • National Police Certificate 
  • Driver Licence 
  • Certificate in Individual Support, Nursing, or such
