As a result of strong growth, we have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Dispatch Supervisor, for an immediate start at our modern engineering workshop at Molendinar.
We are looking for a trustworthy individual with integrity who will bring a positive can-do attitude to the position and the team. This role would suit an individual with experience in the steel processing industry, a high attention to detail and a manufacturing industry background.
About you
The successful applicant will join a team with great work ethic and will thrive in an environment that consists of packing/storage and dispatch of product to local and interstate clients. Initially as the team grows, this will be a hands on role, however the focus must and should be on development of this area to meet all of the business needs. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Consolidation of completed job packs and completion of pre-pack checks.
- Preparation of parts to be dispatched to sub-contract services.
- Monitoring dispatch schedule and pulling forward parts when required to maintain a 95% or better DIFOT.
- Supervise and assist the warehouse team in ensuring all parts are checked and appropriately packaged for transit to customers.
- Providing input to operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Establishing and maintaining 5S Principles for the dispatch team.
- Capture, record and distribute all incoming raw materials and parts arriving into the business.
- Attend and contribute to Production Meetings
- Conduct weekly team communication sessions.
- Complete monthly stock order requirements for all packaging and dispatch related products.
- Liaise with sales, purchasing, production and operational staff as required.
- Ensuring zero customer complaints due to quantity, quality packing issues.
Skills Required:
- Methodical mindset - Driven to achieving high quality outputs.
- Sound computer skills and experience with MRP software
- Excellent time management
- Attention to detail.
- A team player with great work ethic
- Current forklift licence and manual car licence
- Experience or knowledge of different metal types and the ability to interpret basic part component drawings would be a definite advantage.
The position will be offered as a full-time position.
