Our client is seeking a Distribution Center Manager to oversee the management and day-to-day activities of their Distribution Center located in Melbourne's inner suburbs. The ideal candidate is an experienced logistics professional with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to managing operations efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Management - Responsible for driving key facility metrics such as safety, order accuracy, on-time receipts, on-time fulfillment, labor costs, and inventory accuracy-uses data to make informed decisions on process improvements and driving operational excellence.
- Strategic Planning - Constantly look for ways to streamline the operations and collaborate with the leadership team to make sure we always have enough resources to hit anticipated demand and storage needs; and the ability to support all other large-scale projects.
- Leadership and Development - Lead and manage the team of supervisors, warehouse workers, and administrative staff - oversee hiring, training, and performance management while ensuring that the Distribution Center is compliant with relevant laws and regulations
- Collaboration and Communication - Manage day-to-day relationships with partners at the facility, work closely with key stakeholders throughout the company to ensure everyone is aware of facility performance, raise any concerns to proper channels
- Problem Solving and Decision Making - Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in the distribution process such as delays and equipment failures; serve as the facility subject matter expert for internal and external teams
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience showing progressive leadership roles of increased responsibilities.
- Proven experience as a people leader in a Distribution Center or fulfillment facility.
- Experience working in ERP, WMS, or TMS systems with the ability to pull information and use the data to make decisions to drive facility performance.

- Proficient in Google Suite - able to create, comment, modify, and present data.
- Certification in process improvement or Lean Sigma is a plus.
