As the Distribution Scheduler for Kewdale logistics, you will:

  • Compose efficient schedules: Craft the perfect harmony between deliveries, drivers, and deadlines. Become the maestro of on-time magic
  • Conduct the flow: Keep the goods moving like a well-rehearsed orchestra. No wrong notes, just smooth deliveries and satisfied customers
  • Soothe the logistics chaos: Anticipate disruptions like a premonition, then adapt with the grace of a seasoned conductor. Stress? Not in your vocabulary
  • Lead the team: Guide your fellow logistics players with a steady hand and clear communication. You're the conductor, and they're your talented ensemble

Some of your Key Duties 

  • Responsible for liaising with the Distribution Schedulers to ensure that bookings are consolidated and planned onto loads to achieve the time slot required
  • Joint responsibility with the Distribution Schedulers - semi and rigids for the efficient and effective daily work scheduling ensuring fleet capacity is maximised and the electronic timeslot sheet is updated daily
  • Accountable for the adherence to Chain of Responsibility, Load Restraint and Dangerous Goods ensuring that loads are planned in accordance with current regulations
  • Ensure that customer freight is delivered within the allocated transit times, and that it is planned based on the customers expectation of delivery
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments including Schedulers, Managers and Supervisors to ensure the effective logistical planning of all Sadleirs freight
  • Contribute to the accuracy of consignment note data and supporting documentation

Skills, licences & experience required for the position.

  • Minimum two years recent experience within the Transport Industry
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness
  • Chain of Responsibility Awareness
  • Load Restraint Awareness
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Experience with a Transport Management System similar to FR8.
  • Extensive geographical knowledge of Perth metropolitan
  • Strong teamwork and excellent communication skills
  • Above average computer literacy and keyboarding skills
  • Above average levels of customer service
  • The ability to work autonomously and unsupervised
  • Proven experience in following safety procedures
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
