Job Vacancy

We are currently seeking applications for Document Writers and Assistant Document Writers within our Centralised Writing Team. As a Document Writer, you will be responsible for researching, drafting, writing and editing documents, particularly work instructions. The main topics writers are required to support include, maintenance and fabrication of plant and plant operational functions. This is a full-time position.

As an Assistant Document Writer you will work closely with Document Writers and subject matter experts to assist with researching, editing, drafting and reviewing operations and maintenance documents. This includes some Quality Assurance activities related to reviewing and updating existing documents to current templates and monitoring the accuracy of documents within the Document Management System. This is a part-time entry level position.

These roles can be based at any of our 8 milling locations in Northern Queensland. The successful applicant will be required to develop documents across the three sugar regions and this may involve some travel to other sites.

Responsibilities for these roles include:

  • Work closely with operators, maintenance representatives and other documentation customers to understand and document task steps as work instructions that are user friendly for the end user and developed to a high standard.
  • Work with site personnel to ensure that current work instructions are updated.
  • Ensure existing and new work instructions are verified for correctness and validity.
  • Ensure documentation is generated and recorded according to document management processes.
  • Seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities, facilitating the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant business codes of conduct, statutory acts and regulations.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidates for these positions will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to create clear, well-structured documents. Possessing a background and practical knowledge in maintenance and fabrication of plant, or previous experience in a factory station role, would be advantageous. Familiarity with Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) principles paired with working knowledge and application of Workplace Health & Safety Acts, Regulations, and Codes of Practice would further enhance your application.
