About Dog’s Day Out
Dog’s Day Out Doggy Daycare is a bustling doggy daycare situated in Mitchell ACT. We opened our doors to provide a safe, clean and FUN place for Canberra’s dogs to play the day away.
Our focus is on socialising, training and enriching the lives all of our beautiful doggy clients!
About the role
In this exciting and busy role you will be responsible for:
- Supervising off-leash play groups
- Engaging, playing and training dogs
- Serving our lovely clients at pick up and drop off times
- Record Keeping
- Assisting with dog washes and training
- Cleaning, cleaning and MORE cleaning!
- Constantly monitoring the welfare of the dogs in your care
About you
While working with dogs sounds like a lot of fun (and it is!) it is also a very demanding job physically and mentally. We are looking for people who would love to become part of a team, who can work both with others and independently. You must be extremely quick on their feet and fast thinking, with the ability to multitask – we have to be able to improvise and adapt to whatever the dogs throw at us on any given day
We need someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty as there is A LOT of cleaning.
We would love someone who is proactive, outgoing and energetic!
We are looking for someone who would love to have the opportunity to grow and learn with us, with the flexibility that will be needed working with dogs and outdoors.
You MUST be a lover of all dogs! No matter the size or the breed!
If you are put off by smelly odours, slobber, loud noises or poop, this is not the job for you.
Professional experience in the animal industry is NOT essential for this position, but being enthusiastic, eager to learn, being extremely reliable and have great customer service is a must! Training is provided on the job including several short courses on dog behaviour and dog group management.
We are only open Monday-Friday so no weekend work!
There is the potential that split shifts would be needed to make up hours, and availability needs to start from 7:15am at least 3 mornings a week.
