Domestic Assistant - Joondanna

We strive to lead the change in the way Australians think about ageing, recognising ‘old age’ as a positive force in society and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale.We are currently seeking an experienced Domestic Assistant to provide support to the team at Bethanie Joondanna Aged Care Home on a part time time basis, working 30 hours per week. Our very first site, Bethanie Joondanna is a 60 bed facility set amongst a lush garden setting with 24 hour clinical support for people with high care requirements and for those living with dementia.To be successful in this role, you will have experience in cleaning ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment, and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.This role will be fixed term for a period of two months initially to cover a period of leave, with ongoing casual work available thereafter. Shifts are 7.30am - 2pm across Monday to Friday.Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy
• Ensuring supplies are stocked across the facility
• Liaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are met
• Ensuring residents' personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending

About You:

• Possess a passion for, and previous experience working as a Domestic Assistant / Cleaner ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
• Have a “can do” attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to obtain any relevant vaccinations required
• A current National Police Clearance or willingness to get one
