SalaryThe Role:
Kehoe Myers is currently seeking to fill a Design Technician role to work across our Hydraulics, Structural and Civil teams.
This is an opportunity to work with a well-established engineering practice on a wide variety of projects with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
Duties will include civil and hydraulic design drafting for Commercial, Residential, Education and Medical Projects and attending to onsite inspections.
The Successful Applicant:
The successful applicant will possess:
- Qualifications in Civil Engineering Drafting, proof of ongoing professional development and a disposition for life-long learning. Ability to quickly adopt Kehoe Myers current design standards, as provided.
- Proven experience with AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Revit Architecture & MEP and Civil 3D required. Minimum 12 months experience in MEP software application. Experience with Navisworks, Enscape, Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite are also highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of Australian work experience in technical design / documentation of individual project components within concrete, steel, and timber structures.
- Excellent drafting skill of detailed design plans. Highly specialised and proven experience in hydraulic drafting including sanitary, plumbing and stormwater drainage design, cold and hot water service design, irrigation systems and non-potable water system design, fire systems and sprinkler design, hydrant coverage and fire hose reel coverage plans for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Skill in hydraulic calculation from first principles and material estimations are also required.
- General ability to organise drawings – number of drawings, layout of information, plans sections and details.
- BIM implementation for hydraulic projects including clash detection and application of visualisation software.
- Ability to coordinate work with other disciplines as drawings progress, including client liaison. Second language skills are highly desirable.
- Written communication skills and ability to compile relevant documentation for clients, including original file drawings and copies.
- Qualifications and experience in sustainable development and design is also highly desirable.
