The Opportunity

With multiple construction projects nationally, we are seeking Drill Rig Offsidersto join our project delivery teams. These positions play a vital role in assisting and supporting the Drill Rig Operators. Opportunities are available for motivated, reliable, and experienced minor plant operators (LE, LS), who have the capacity to travel interstate on a FIFO roster.

What you will do in this role

  • Provide assistance and support to the Drill Rig Operator
  • Safe set up of drill sites 
  • Safe set up of plant and lifting/ logistics for specific activity 
  • Conduct thorough prestart inspections of plant and equipment
  • Inspect lifting gear such as chains, slings, ropes, cables, and hooks on plant to ensure it is not defective
  • Safe and efficient operation of plant and lifting/ logistics operations to achieve production requirements
  • Manage and communicates risk associated with plant and lifting/ logistics operations
  • Assist with delivering/ receiving plant, equipment, and materials to/ from project sites
  • Work from drawings, specifications and/or verbal instruction
  • Participate in a team environment and assisting team members when required
  • Other duties consistent with your qualifications, skills, and capabilities 
  • Work a FIFO roster

About you

  • You are an experienced and competent Excavator and Skidsteer operator, and have worked on civil construction projects 
  • You must hold Excavator (LE), Skidsteer (LS) and Dogman (DG) tickets
  • Experience as a Drill Rig Offsider desirable
  • Construction industry White Card essential 
  • Valid class C driving licence essential (HR licence desirable)
  • You must be physically fit for labour intensive work
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently, if required
  • Highly motivated, reliable and strong work ethic
  • Willing to perform other duties within qualifications and ability

  • Ability to commit to a FIFO roster (2&1)

Additional information:

Successful candidates are required to undergo a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening. In addition, candidates are required to complete pre-employment online inductions. Employment is subject to satisfactory completion.

A condition of employment is the ability to undertake a daily drug and alcohol test on site and produce a negative result. 

Civil Group will arrange travel from your nearest capital city (point of hire). It is your responsibility to make your own way to the designated POH for mobilisation.
