Driver Operator
The position of Driver Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of CNG compression plant and equipment to fill CNG equipment in preparation for transport via medium to long-distance operations of multi-combination vehicles and unloading CNG equipment at its destination. The Driver Operator will be responsible for the safe transport of Dangerous Goods to the assigned destinations efficiently while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Dangerous Goods Truck Driver, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of your assigned vehicle
- Hook-up and decoupling of hoses to/from compression stations and pressure reduction systems
- Perform visual inspections of terminal equipment to ensure proper operation and environmental integrity.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations while operating the plant and driving and operating the truck & trailer.
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections on the truck/trailer and report any issues to the supervisor
- Load fuel onto the trailer from the distribution centre/s and unload the fuel at designated locations
- Maintain accurate records of fuel delivery and ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly
- Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, and other drivers to coordinate routes and delivery schedules
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the truck
- Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the truck
- Assures compliance with all operating procedures, operating requirements, laws, and codes
- General workshop duties as required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a fuel truck driver
- Current VIC Driving Licence Class HC (Heavy Combination) or MC (Multi Combination)
- Proven ability driving 25-38 tonne trailer articulated vehicles.
- Experience in transportation of hazardous materials
- WHS Construction Induction (White card)
- Effective problem-solving skills help them address issues promptly.
- Experience in general labouring duties and small plant operation.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and apply key HES standards, policies and protocols and enforce them during maintenance work.
