WorkPac Health and Social Care are seeking experienced Drug and Alcohol Nurse to work a six month (with possibility of extension) contract within the largest correctional centre in Australia. This is a state-of-the-art Correctional Facility in NSW and is located approximately 3.5 hours from Brisbane, 2.5hrs from the Gold Coast and 6 hours from Sydney.
Job role:
Join an established, supportive, hardworking team of nurses focused on providing care to patients within a correctional facility. As a Drug and Alcohol Nurse working in Primary Care you will be:
• Assessing and manage intoxication and withdrawal states
• Act as a triage point for non-alcohol and other drug staff
• Provide a comprehensive and accurate health assessment for patients
• Use analytical skills to assess physiological, psychological and social information
This is quite an active role with onsite training provided.
About you:
- Bachelor of Nursing and unrestricted AHPRA
- Minimum of 3 years full time post graduate experience in Australia as an RN
- Drug and Alcohol nursing experience mandatory
- Experience in Primary Health, Rural Health or Emergency Nursing (desirable)
- Corrections experience advantageous
- Venipuncture and cannulation experience preferred
- Current First Aid and BLS Certification (ALS preferred) (12 month validity)
- National Criminal History Check (issued within last 3 months)
- COVID Vaccination Evidence (Minimum 2 doses)
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Residency
- Ability to do shift work
