Job description

The Partnerships & Recovery Team support the clinical teams of the Mental Health Specialised Services (MHSS). This service will provide and promote advanced Dual Diagnosis interventions and evidenced based practices with your expertise around addiction, substance use, motivational interviewing, stage of change-based assessments and treatment, and appropriate treatment pathways. 

The Dual Diagnosis Co-Ordinator assists to deliver specialist evidence-based Mental Health assessment, assist with appropriate care planning and treatment, and provide training services in Dual Diagnosis and the management of harmful substance use. 

Senior Nursing/Allied Health clinicians within MHSS work as a team to meet clinical demand in keeping with Clinical Prioritisation Document. 

Key Responsibilities include: 

Clinical Nurse Consultant -

  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being understand to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Public Service values.
  • Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.

Allied Health Practitioner - Senior -

  • Deliver independent high level [discipline] clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
  • Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced [discipline] practitioners and students as delegated.
  • Adhere to relevant expectations outlined in the SCHHS and Allied Health Governance Framework documents and Business Rules to ensure that best patient outcomes are achieved in a transparent, ethical and accountable manner.

Remuneration value up to $159,429 p.a., comprising salary between $128,701 - $139,732 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG7) or Remuneration value up to $152,776 p.a., comprising salary between $124,435 - $133,901 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4).
