About the roleThe Forestville Early Learning Centre (ELC) is a purpose-built 60 place preschool on the grounds of our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Primary School. At our Early Learning Centre, we provide a range of learning experiences for children aged between 3 and 5 years.
The centre offers term time preschool from 8.00 am to 3.30 pm and a dedicated After School Care service for the preschool children. This role would encompass working within the preschool program commencing 10.00 am and then support up to 20 preschool children for an After School Care Programme from 3.30 – 6pm within the ELC.
In the future a Vacation Care Program may be established offering variable staffing hours.
This is a permanent full-time position.
Duties
- Working with an ECT in the planning, implementing, documenting, evaluating, and delivering of a preschool program for 3 – 5-year-old children.
- Being responsible for the After School Care program for the preschoolers, with further staffing support.
- Developing a positive and supportive relationship with children.
- Helping to maintain a safe, engaging, and compliant environment.
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with families.
- Diploma Qualifications in Early Childhood Education (or 50% working towards).
- Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance.
- Have completed CHCPRT025 or previous - Identify & Respond to Children and Young People at Risk.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
- Knowledge of the Education and Care National regulations and National Quality Framework.
