Melbourne City Institute of Education is a prestigious Registered Training Organisation delivering a range of VET programs including VETDSS programs to Charles La Trobe, Hazel Glen, etc., students enrolled in VCAL or VCE.
VETDSS Trainers are required for 1- 3 days per week and should be available to teach on Tuesday to Thursday during the school term. The positions are based in Melbourne City Campus, but there may be opportunities to deliver training at other sites.
Duties:- Deliver structured, flexible, relevant, and interesting training sessions and assist all learners regardless of level to achieve their training goals.
- Prepare for, conduct, and document both training delivery and assessment procedures, using approved training delivery plans.
- Deliver and assess units of competency that are of high quality and relevant to the needs of the industry and suited for the cohort of students.
- Complete and maintain all training records accurately, document assessment results, and submit to the Course Coordinator upon assessment for input into the student management system.
- Evaluate the training program, retaining written feedback for review and discussion with the appropriate Manager.
- Contribute to the validation of learning and assessment materials.
- In conjunction with the Course Coordinator, resolve any complaints or incidents in accordance with company grievance procedures, documenting incidents and outcomes.
- Keep abreast of rules and regulations and accreditation procedures for the ECEC industry.
- Maintain currency of qualifications and relevant industry experience.
- Ensure students develop employability skills or are prepared to engage in further accredited training and higher education.
- Report to and inform the Course Coordinator regarding student welfare, student attendance, and course progress.
- Be familiar with and contribute to the review of the Training and Assessment Strategies for the programs/qualifications delivered.
- Communicate with teaching staff regarding student support matters.
Skills & Experience:
- Applicants must hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and have current industry skills and knowledge that align with the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Experience in the delivery and assessment of VETDSS Training.
- Effective workplace communication skills.
- Microsoft Office skills.
