About Children’s Services

Inner West Council operates 11 Long Day Care Centres, 2 Out of School Hours Care, an Occasional Care service, a Pre-School and a Family Day Care service. We currently have multiple vacancies for Certificate III Qualified Educators, Diploma Qualified Educators and Teachers to join our professional and friendly Early Learning and Middle Childhood Services team.

Our educators take pride in their Early and Middle Childhood Education profession. We adhere to the guidelines, practices and regulations surrounding the National Quality Standards (NQS) and regularly review Quality Improvement Plans and are implementing the Self-Assessment Tool. We strive for excellence and all our centres are meeting or exceeding the NQF standards as rated by ACECQA.

About the role

Inner West Council are looking for multiple Educator's and Teacher that are Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelor's degree qualified who are available to join a warm and compassionate team in the Children's Services section of the council. Our Early Childhood Educators and Teachers are accountable for supporting the Nominated Supervisor in the day-to-day running of the Education and Care Service, leading, inspiring, motivating and supporting other educators and staff, planning, programming, and implementing a caring, safe, and enriching learning environment for children and developing quality partnerships with children, families, colleagues, and the wider community. (All educators and teachers are required to work with all age groups).

Remuneration

Early Childhood Educator - Certificate III: $56,501.12 - $65,861.64 + 11% Superannuation

Early Childhood Educator - Diploma: $62,411.44 - $74,250.28 + 11% Superannuation

Early Childhood Teacher: $78,646.36 - $91,563.16 + 11% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

  1. The relevant qualifications for the retrospective role you are applying for.
  2. Experience as an active and collaborative educator for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, with sound working knowledge of child development, positive behaviour guidance techniques and strategies for children.
  3. Proven ability to apply knowledge and evidence of the following:
    o Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance
    o Identify and Respond to Children at Risk of Harm Statement of Attainment or willingness to undertake the course
    o Child Protection and Mandatory Reporters requirements and guidelines
    o Current First Aid Certificate including emergency management of asthma and anaphylaxis, or willingness to undertake the course
  4. Willingness to undertake role of Responsible Person under the National Education and Care Services Regulations.
  5. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate and inquiry/interest- based programs for individual children and groups of children.
