The Role
Through music, movement/dance, story and drama, children are provided with ways to express themselves, and their emotions, understand, appreciate and respond to their worlds.
Are you passionate about music, dance and drama and love working with young children? Join our team at Habitat Early Learning to deliver our Performing Arts program across our Ferny Grove and Nundah services.
The Performing Arts program is delivered throughout the year during school term.
** The position is Casual, 20-25 hours per week across two services **
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the weekly Performing Arts Program
- Teach Performing Arts (music, dance and drama) to children aged 0-5 years, across two services (currently Nundah and Ferny Grove)
- In collaboration with the classroom educator, supervision of children during recreational activities
- Assist the Executive Manager during performance and music events, including but not limited to annual end of year Kindergarten graduation
Skills, Qualifications and Requirements:
- Passion for music, dance and drama
- Passion for working with young children
- Be creative, energetic and have a willingness to work as part of a team
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with children, families and colleagues keen to work harmoniously in a team environment
- Qualified and experienced in Performing Arts; music, dance and drama
- Current First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, CPR certificate (desirable, not essential)
- Ability to attain a positive notice Blue Card (note, it is an offence for a disqualified person to sign a blue card application) (essential)
- Current Australian Drivers Licence (essential)
