The Service

Overlooking the ocean and Wombarra Beach, this beautiful 30 place preschool service offers children the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of learning experiences and activities, each specifically designed to promote children’s confidence as capable, active participants in their own learning. 

At KU Wombarra our special interest is in Nature Play. We have a beautiful bush garden, vegetable patch, running water creek bed, trees to climb, mud to dig in and rocks and logs to support children to develop confidence in their bodies. We are surround by nature wherever we look whether it be watching the whales passing during the migration or looking out for visitors in our garden including water dragons, a blue tongue lizard and frogs as well as night-time visitors including possums and bandicoots.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, inspiring qualified teacher to join the team at Wombarra to provide pivotal admin relief to the director. Currently the role is working 7.6 hours per week on Wednedays, however it is highly likely that this will increase to two day per week in January 2025. 

It would be very beneficial if you had experience of implementing nature play, sustainable practices and environmental awareness issues in Early Childhood Education. 

You will also be able to join our casual pool, if desired so that you can work at other nearby KU services.

Of course, you will need:

  • Relevant experience  
  • An ACCEQA recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree,
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates and approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificates 
  • Active NESA Teacher Accreditation,
  • Completed training in Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children,
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011),
