About the Centre/Service
Set in a large, leafy garden space, Syndal Preschool is a community managed, government funded kindergarten, rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards. We offer both 3 and 4 year old preschool programs, in a caring and stimulating environment, guided by highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood teachers. Our teachers are dedicated to developing programs that reflect each individual child’s interests and abilities, while incorporating family dynamics, culture and aspirations. Our preschool curriculum is underpinned by the National Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and like-minded Early Childhood Teacher to join our team to co-deliver the delivery of a high quality, play-based program for the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes. This role is for 4 half day sessions of 4-4.5 hours (teaching time) on a • Monday (afternoon 3-year-old) • Tuesday (afternoon 4-year-old) • Wednesday (morning 3-year-old) • Thursday (morning 4-year-old) plus planning time on an additional day, (with some flexibility on choice of times). We have 22 children in each group and you will be assisted by 1 Early Childhood Educator. The kindergarten is open from 8:30am -4pm daily. We encourage teachers with experience in implementing play-based learning and inclusive practice to apply for this role. To begin Monday 22nd May 2023 until 2nd June 2024 (Maternity leave contract) Syndal Preschool is a child-safe employer.

Total 28 hr + 20 mins per week CONTACT = 17 hours + NON-CONTACT = 11 hours + 20mins. This role is for 4 half day sessions of 4-4.5 hours (teaching time) on a • Monday (afternoon 3-year-old) • Tuesday (afternoon 4-year-old) • Wednesday (morning 3-year-old) • Thursday (morning 4-year-old) plus planning time on an additional day, (with some flexibility on choice of times). It's a contract until 02/06/2024 covering maternity leave
Description
The successful applicant will -
be passionate about early childhood education
have a strong understanding of child development and the VEYLDF/EYLF
show the ability to plan creative individual and group programs which support children's curiosity and foster their learning and development
have excellent organisational and communication skills with children, families, staff, committee and members of the community
demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, contributing to the running of the Kindergarten
show the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team-teaching model
demonstrate knowledge of child-safe practice
conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Preschool policies and Victorian Kindergarten policy, procedures and funding criteria
be committed to ongoing professional learning and development.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will hold -
A minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Early Childhood (or equivalent) and the right to work in Australia.
Current First Aid qualifications (including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management)
