Hiring – Early Intervention Teacher/Key Worker
Treehouse (Queanbeyan Children’s Special Needs Group) is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation that supports children with additional needs and their families in Queanbeyan, NSW and surrounds.
Treehouse is seeking an Early Intervention Teacher/Key Worker to join our team of professionals. This position will give you the opportunity to work within an experienced transdisciplinary team including speech pathologists, occupational therapists, teachers, educators and key workers. Role Description:
- Work with children with disabilities, developmental delays and their families
- Deliver a play, strengths and family centred approach in various settings (school, preschool, home, child care, centre)
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Work flexibly across our programs including Early Intervention groups, afternoon programs for primary school aged children and 1:1 with children as a keyworker.
- Work within a transdisciplinary team
- Work within the NDIS framework to help participants achieve their NDIS goals
- Immediate start preferred
- Full time/Part time
Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in early childhood education or related discipline
- Experience in working with children with developmental disabilities and their families
- An understanding of best practice in Early Intervention
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- NSW Working with Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain)
- ACT Working with vulnerable people check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Drivers Licence, first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and CPR certificate.
- Evidence of your ability to work collaboratively with external stakeholders
- Ability to work as part of a transdisciplinary or multidisciplinary team
- High level verbal and written communication skills
