Job description

Purpose of the role:

Northern Star Supports is a new and expanding Best Practice Early Intervention National Disability Insurance Provider seeking to expand our team with an Early SupportsBest Practice Early Intervention Teacher.

NSS is seeking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and committed Early SupportsEarly Intervention Teacher to join our transdisciplinary team of teachers, and allied health professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing evidence based Best Practice service delivery to children with developmental delays, developmental concerns and disabilities in their natural setting e.g. schools, early childhood services, community locations, their home, and through a tele practice model. Working in partnership with families to support children to achieve positive outcomes, actively participant in everyday activities and be included and family and community life.

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Interact and build strong rapport with families, viewing the family as the expert of their child.
  • Actively listen to the voice of the child
  • Connect and facilitate inclusion of the child and in mainstream settings.
  • Coach families, carers and other professional surrounding the child to build their capacity.
  • Document developmental information, assessment, goals and outcomes.
  • Work within a Best Practice Key Worker model approach.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to ensure that people receive comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and evaluate peoples' progress, adjusting teaching methods and strategies as necessary.
  • Communicate with families and caregivers regularly to provide updates on their client's progress and discuss strategies for supporting their educational goals.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills and abilities to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.


The successful applicant:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in early childhood education, and or primary education.
  • Full Licence
  • Demonstrate previous experience working with children and families.
  • Show experience working with developmental delays / disabilities.
  • Confirm willingness to complete references, police check, NDIS checks.
