The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an EC Application Architect in Brisbane or Adelaide on a permanent Full-time basis.

Reporting to the Energy Components Development Team Lead. Primary Objective is Provision of high-quality technical capabilities in application design, development, and testing services across APA Grid Systems. Responsible for implementing appropriate technical solution development and technical supporting BAU handover practices. Provision of technical software development mentorship and support applied business knowledge, and technical support for quality assurance practices to APA Grid's solution delivery streams. Responsible for input to the development of technical documentation to support system maintenance, monitoring and support of the delivered solution throughout its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and I&T stakeholders to determine functional and non-functional requirements, and translate these into prototypes, proof of concepts, and/or detailed implementable designs
  • Work with Enterprise and Solution Architects to ensure APA Grid solutions and standards align to the overall IT Architecture Strategy
  • Strong experience on compliance with software and hardware licensing, and support and maintenance agreements for Energy Components-related systems and services
  • Working experience of I&T architects and technical leads to design all aspects of the Energy Components application, including components such as user interface, security, middleware and infrastructure
  • Working experience on technical input and feedback into business cases and other project deliverables as required

Your background

  • Working experience designing and developing application solutions, ideally relating to Energy Components or a similar hydrocarbon accounting solution
  • proficient in modern programming languages, such as PL/SQL, Java, C#, and .NET
  • Working knowledge and experience with modern cloud and integration technologies (AWS, Azure, BizTalk, Azure webservices etc)
  • experience designing and developing application solutions, ideally relating to Energy Components or a similar hydrocarbon accounting solution
  • Tertiary qualifications in in computer science with a specialisation in software engineering, application development, or similar, is highly desirable. use of architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman Framework, Gartner)
