The Editorial Assistant role combines administrative and basic editing tasks. The role is extremely varied, so you'll need to be flexible in managing your time. The position is 100% remote, so you’ll need to be self-directed and highly motivated.
The administrative side of the role involves most aspects of small business administration and client liaison. The editing side is a trainee position with great potential for progression to a more senior editing role in the company.
Responsibilities
The Editorial Assistant’s duties will include, but not be limited to:
Administration
- Liaising with clients
- Coordinating external suppliers
- Coordinating project tasks and timelines
- Updating the company’s shared diary and work schedule
- Preparing quotes
- Updating spreadsheets and web pages, including our web-based project management interface
Editing
- Basic editing tasks
- MS Word formatting
- Learning and development activities
Qualifications and personal characteristics
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- A strong client focus
- Interest in government, editing and publishing
- Proven organisational/administrative skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
