Working with Bravehearts means working with a dedicated team that is on a mission to protect kids.
One of the ways we do this is through our Bravehearts Ditto's Keep Safe Adventure Show. Aimed at children aged 3 to 8, our show is delivered in early learning centres and lower primary schools to children of all abilities. The program has reached over 1.3 million Australian children since its inception in 2006 and we've just launched a brand new and exciting show!
We are looking for our next enthusiastic live performer and facilitator to deliver our show in the Nowra region. The role is a fixed term role until June 2024, part-time role, 22.8 hours, Monday - Wednesday during school terms only.
What you will bring to the role:
- The ability to learn 3 x scripts, hold an audience of kids and to embrace the character of Ditto! (this includes wearing the lion cub mascot suit). You will also need to travel in the Nowra region to visit schools and early learning centres.
- A qualification in education/early childhood or experience working with young people (both preferable not essential).
- Experience in performing and/or public speaking.
What you will get in return:
- To work with a great bunch of people in a supportive and encouraging environment who all aspire to achieve the same goal.
- The balance of working both in the office and out and about in schools and centres which makes for a unique work day.
- To be a part of an Australia wide personal safety program for children
- And of course, when you work for a NFP you get access to salary packaging so your take home pay is optimised each fortnight.
The other things to know:
- The role requires you to put on the Ditto mascot suit, so successful applicants must not have any pre exiting injuries which could be impacted by wearing the mascot suit
- We read cover letters so please include one with your resume as it helps us to understand why you've applied and what skills you can bring
- Please apply quickly as we may close the advert early if we find our next Ditto
- If you need us to make any special adjustments so that you can fully participate in our recruitment process then please either outline them in your application or confidentially via recruitment@bravehearts.org.au.
- As a child-safe organisation, successful candidates must have a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Certificate before commencing with Bravehearts.
- All of the full details of the role are available in the position description which you can find here - bravehearts.org.au/careers/
- We foster a work environment that is inclusive and diverse so if you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or come from any other diverse or minority group, we'd love to receive your application.
