We are looking for an EHS Specialist (ANZ) to be based in our Melbourne or Sydney Office.
The EHS Specialist will support the business operations in Australia / New Zealand. This position is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the company field organization, manufacturing operation and office Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) programs. The incumbent will provide leadership and technical resources to ensure business compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental government regulations as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures and provide assistance to Product Environmental Compliance group as requested.
Job Description
Implement and maintain the Rockwell Automation environmental and safety management systems to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Facilitate and represent the company with government agencies' field visits for the purpose of understanding the regulations and to ensure compliance.
Localize as appropriate and implement Headquarters environmental, health and safety field and non-operations orientated policies and procedures to ensure compliance to the environmental, health and safety permits and regulations - special attention needed for oil/petrochemical and mining industry specifications.
Provide technical support, input and coordination on environmental, health and safety issues that affect projects and processes at the regional/country level.
Actively supports new RA EHS programs through participation and engaging others. Challenges the status quo and champions new initiatives; acts as a catalyst of change and stimulates others to change; paves the way for needed changes; implements programs effectively. Includes communication campaigns and other engagement activities.
Complete environmental, health and safety permits, reports, forms and surveys as required by regulation and/or Rockwell Automation policy and procedures for the organization, and submit them on a timely basis and in a professional manner.
Respond to customer requests for EHS Plans such as safety manual for on-site project work, and support the project implementation plan.
Complete or provide guidance on EHS related questions in customer tenders.
Report monthly injury/illness metrics to Headquarters EHS; support the investigation of injury and illnesses; analyze work related injury and illness data to identify and implement actions to prevent a reoccurrence of the injury/illness; and support efforts to return employees to productive work within assigned medical restrictions.
Ensure that environmental, health and safety assessments, personal protective equipment, procedures, training and other control measures as required by regulation and/or Rockwell Automation policy and procedures are provided for the employees. Define, deliver and track employee EHS training that meets regulatory and company requirements.
Support environmental product compliance (permit registration, WEEE, RoHS, others) with local and country entities as requested by Product Environmental Compliance department. Support product safety/liability issues as requested.
Ensure thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000 & 45001, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. Ensure compliance to Ethics, Standards of Business Conduct, other RA policies and the relevant government regulations in the geography.
Perform any other relevant duties as and when assigned by Manager.
Education / Experience Requirements
Degree in Engineering / Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience ideally in manufacturing or field service organisation.
May be required to undertake occasional travel within Australia or to New Zealand or other international locations.
