The Role
Defence Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a major Defence transformation program that will change the way Defence does business. The program will eliminate hundreds of complicated and unnecessary structures, processes, systems and tools, and replace them with a new ERP solution that will provide a single, trusted source of accurate, near real-time information.

ERP will improve the department’s ability to support Defence capability, improve efficiency in everyday tasks and improve compliance.

The DIG ERP Implementation Coordination team requires an Assistant Director to lead and support ERP business analysis, business readiness and change management. This role fosters DIG stakeholders’ understanding of ERP processes and information requirements to support the transition to Defence ERP.

This role has representative functions across the Group and wider Defence ERP networks, ensuring DIG has a clear view of ERP requirements and challenges, and enabling planning across the Group. The role also provides support to DIG senior leaders’ attendance at key ERP committee meetings and advises on optimal pathways to ensure successful roll-out of ERP tranches.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. For further information, please contact the contact officer.

Our Ideal Candidate

It will move Defence to standardised, simplified and aligned processes across all Defence Groups and Services with an integrated system and consistent way of working.

To achieve this transformative agenda within DIG, the DIG ERP Implementation Coordination team requires an Assistant Director with demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement, change management, communications and business process analysis.

Our ideal candidate will be proactive and efficient, outcomes-focused and able to influence a wide range of stakeholders, an excellent team leader and communicator, and with the critical and creative thinking necessary to identify issues, challenges and practical solutions.
