EL1 Evidence Synthesis Role with a Large Federal Agency in Brisbane

Your new company:
Hays has partnered with a large Federal Government Agency. This is an opportunity to join the agency on an initial 12-month contract based in the Brisbane CBD.

Your new role:
The EL1 Evidence Synthesis is a leadership role responsible for supporting evidence reviews and primary research to provide the best research evidence for Agency decisions. This role involves team leadership, managing workflows, and exercising initiative and judgement in interpreting legislation and policy to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to establish, develop, and oversee project plans.
  • Creating and recording protocols for environmental scans, evidence snapshots, and reviews relevant to participants or practice models.
  • Implementing scientific and grey literature searches following PRISMA standards.
  • Conducting research according to established protocols for record inclusion/exclusion, data extraction, quality assessment, and data synthesis.
  • Managing project-related records and research software.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to interpret results and facilitate translation.
  • Developing and delivering research reports and recommendations to various stakeholders.
  • Providing expertise in research methods, psychosocial disability, early childhood interventions, neurological disorders, or other areas relevant to disability support.
  • Overseeing a small team on a temporary or permanent basis.
  • Facilitating the development of junior staff members.
  • Leading or assisting with wider projects within the branch.
What you'll need to succeed:
A strong understanding of academic and professional research, and an extensive background in quantitative and qualitative research
Demonstrated skills and experience specifically within Systematic review, evidence Synthesis, meta-analysis, and statistical analysis using R,
Strong experience in planning & conducting systematic reviews of research evidence, and familiarity with Evidence Synthesis methods
Prior research experience in disability, psychology, medicine, epidemiology, education, economics, social science, statistics or related fields
Previous research leadership experience, with strong research project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
Strong technical skills within research, including qualitative, quantitative, data presentation and communication
