EL1 Executive Officer to the Chief Information Officer, Information Technology Division

Salary:
$110,321 - $116,399 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation

  • a 3% pay increase will come into effect from 28 March 2023
The department has an Individual Flexibility Arrangement (IFA) Framework to provide salaries that are consistent with other Commonwealth Public Sector Agencies and to reward and retain high performing employees at the APS6 and Executive Levels.

Under this Framework, APS6 and Executive Level employees will have access to the IFA Framework on engagement, promotion or movement from another Commonwealth Public Sector Agency. Access to the IFA Framework is consistent with the provisions of clauses 16, 17 and 19 of the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development Enterprise Agreement 2016.

The opportunity we have available

This is an exciting career opportunity for an EL1 employee. Working closely with the Department’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), the successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Providing high level support and advice to the Chief Information Officer and Information Technology Division
Building and maintaining high levels of engagement with internal and external departmental stakeholders
Providing support for processes and projects within the Division that have a Corporate focus, including Governance, Business Planning, Budgeting, Resourcing, and Reporting
Coordinate briefings and other materials for the CIO
Assist the Division’s Senior Leadership to manage high priority and sensitive issues

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced candidate who:
Has demonstrated experience providing high-level support to senior management and the timely coordination of key cross-organisational processes.
Understands the Department’s governance processes (e.g. business planning, budgeting, performance reporting, senate estimates).
Is able to work with minimal supervision to prioritise, research, engage stakeholders and coordinate activities to meet Divisional and Group level outputs.
Support strategic coordination for the Division, encourage contribution from all stakeholders and clearly communication expected outcomes.
Skilfully manage a range of competing priorities and effectively adjust to dynamic work demands.
Has a proven ability to productively negotiate and engage with high level stakeholders to enable timely and effective delivery of outcomes.

A merit list may be created to fill future vacancies for Executive Officer positions.

Eligibility requirements

Employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:

Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts applicants must be an Australian citizen.
Health Assessment: The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the department’s preferred medical provider.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at Baseline Vetting Level. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting clearances. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
