APS5/6 HR Reporting and Strategy Officer

Our client is seeking to engage an APS5/6 HR Reporting and Strategy Officer on a Non-ongoing contract for 12 months, with potential to progress to an Ongoing opportunity.
Statement of duties:
- Analyse and translate complex HR data into actionable insights that drive effective data driven decision making.
- Undertake regular reporting and ad hoc requests for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and improve reporting processes and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for regular reporting activities.
- Assist with the development, testing and quality assurance of Power BI dashboards to ensure accuracy and efficacy.
- Assist in the maintenance of HR Management Systems (Aurion and SAP) data, including identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Assist in the design and delivery of Workforce Planning projects including (but not limited to), labour market research, trend analysis and employee surveys.
- Work collaboratively to build an effective and positive team environment.
- Developing and managing positive and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
What we are looking for:
Knowledge and experience -
- Demonstrated experience working with data - collection, cleaning, manipulating, analysing, advising.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a small team and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstration of professionalism, impartiality, and integrity in dealing with others and managing sensitive information.
- Have an understanding of HR policies, practices and workforce planning activities.
Skills and capabilities -
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Power BI or other visualisation reporting tools is advantageous.
- Experience using Aurion and/or SAP HR Information Systems is advantageous.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in writing reports, briefs, and determinations with supporting data.
- Effective engagement with stakeholders to gather information and provide advice for achieving outcomes.
Eligibility and other requirements:
- Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with the Department you must be an Australian citizen.
- Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
- Pre-employment Check - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.
