This role is essential in supporting and protecting their systems, users, and data. You will have technical competency in areas of cloud security (Azure/AWS), endpoint and network security, threat intelligence and hunting, data loss prevention, vulnerability management, and incident response.Key Responsibilities:

• Proactive Monitoring: Lead the monitoring, investigation, and mitigation of security incidents using tools like Microsoft Defender 365, Azure Security Centre, IntSights, and Splunk.
• Security Event Analysis: Analyse security event data to identify suspicious or malicious activities from networks and systems.
• Incident Response: Lead incident response activities, including initial and detailed investigations, computer forensics, and chain of custody implications.
• Data Source Management: Identify critical data sources for cyber ingestion and normalization into the SIEM.
• Collaboration: Work with Security Operations and IT engineers to implement robust security controls.
• Mentorship: Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff, and identify areas for improvement in people, processes, and defensive tools.
• Reporting: Produce and disseminate incident response reports, activity reports, and intelligence and threat briefs.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience with log aggregation and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
• Knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Cyber Security concepts.
• Experience with Incident Response Frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-61, Mitre Frameworks).
• Tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in a Cyber Security-related field (e.g., Azure/AWS, Splunk Certified).
• Excellent stakeholder relationship skills and highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in a Security/Network Operations Center (or similar).

Job Details:

• Work Locations: VIC - Richmond, Geelong; ACT - Canberra
• Please note this role will require working in a Security Operations Center in Canberra or Geelong with the potential for a requirement to work a rotating roster between 0700 and 1900 AEST.
• Australian citizenship is mandatory. Candidates must possess or have the ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance.
• Start August 2024. 12 month contract with two 12 month extensions
