At the heart of this mission, the Office of the Chief Executive (OCE) serves as a central coordination point. Its responsibilities include furnishing high-level executive leadership and support services, offering strategic advice, managing communications, and implementing strategies to support the attainment of our client’s strategic and operational objectives.

Lead strategic initiatives independently and manage Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team obligations by coordinating workflows through the Office of the Chief Executive.

Your influence extends to representing and negotiating for the Chief Executive with external stakeholders and the Minister’s Office, showcasing leadership prowess.

Focus on fostering team collaboration to promote a positive workplace culture, as Chief of Staff, you will make a lasting impact by overseeing, reviewing, and revising functions within the Office of the Chief Executive for continuous improvement.

The Role

As the Chief of Staff, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide high-level strategic support and advice to the Chief Executive, ensuring they stay ahead of risks and issues
  • Work autonomously with significant judgment, driving strategic initiatives, resolving challenges, and delivering impactful outcomes
  • Prepare and quality assure complex and sensitive correspondence, ensuring seamless communication
  • Represent the Office of the Chief Executive in negotiations with key stakeholders and the Minister’s Office
  • Foster engagement and manage relationships with key stakeholders to resolve complex issues
  • Oversee executive support staff, driving efficiency within the Office of the Chief Executive
  • Evaluate and respond effectively to sensitive operational issues, minimizing financial and reputational risks
  • Promote a positive workplace culture by instilling desired behaviours throughout the agency
  • Build effective relationships, networks, and collaborations with community, government, and industry stakeholders
  • Drive collaboration among teams for seamless coordination in initiatives involving multiple functions
  • Evaluating and responding effectively to highly sensitive and contentious operational issues to ensure that financial, reputational, and business risks are minimised

A tertiary qualification relevant to the disciplines of public policy, business administration, or governance is highly desirable.

Salary / Rate
  • $130k – $154k + 15.4% Super
  • Baseline clearance required or the ability to obtain one
