We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Cable Jointer to join our growing Yurika business as we continue to deliver electrical network infrastructure solutions on projects located across Australia.
This is a Queensland-based role with extensive travel requirements within Australia (fly in, fly out / drive in, drive out). Appointment will be on a 9-day fortnight, however applicants must be prepared to work away from home on a 10/4 fortnightly roster as needed on a project-by-project basis, working a reasonable amount of overtime as required.
The role:
As a Cable Joiner, you will install, repair, commission and maintain various items of HV & LV underground Electrical Cables, equipment and plant on remote and non-remote project sites located within Queensland and interstate.
The candidate:
You are trade qualified as an Electrical Cable Jointer and hold a current electrical linesperson licence (Queensland preferred, but other Australian states/territories or NZ will be considered). Your demonstrated cable jointing experience at 66kV and above will be highly regarded.
You also have:
- General Construction Induction card
- Current C class open drivers licence
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability in the construction and maintenance of an electricity distribution network
- Working knowledge of Electricity Act & Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts & regulations
- Working knowledge of Energy Queensland and Yurika policies, procedures and safe work practices is desirable

The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in these positions. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
