The opportunity:

WSP are seeking to appoint an Associate DirectorElectrical Engineer in our Darwin office. We are interested in hearing from ambitious Engineers from Senior level upwards. The focus of this role will be leading and managing project teams to design and deliver projects on behalf of our clients in both the Public and Private sector. This position sits within our National Building Services team, part of our 700+ person Australia wide Property and Buildings Group.

We are happy to consider interstate applications and can offer financial support for relocation. All applications are welcome including candidates seeking part-time opportunities. What you’ll do:

  • Provide electrical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time
  • Be a mentor to engineers in the team including technical advice and soft skills.
  • Project lead medium to large size building engineering design including project resources and delivery management.
  • Communicate effectively with all external (clients, authorities) and internal (colleagues, managers) stakeholders
  • Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of the business unit against strategic goals

What we’ll love about you:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a friendly team environment.
  • Familiarity with other Building Services disciplines with ability to engage with those team members and evaluate design solutions.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working within the building services sector utilising Australian building codes and standards.
  • A track record of effectively handling competing priorities, prioritising work, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Well versed across a range of building sectors, e.g., commercial, health, defence, education.
  • Professional Engineer qualifications and / or Engineers Australia chartership would be advantageous however is not essential.
