ABOUT THE ROLE
As our next Electrical Leading Hand, reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.
The Lake Vermont Coal Project is situated in Dysart, North Queensland.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead a team of skilled electricians in servicing, repair and maintenance of AC drive Electric Haul Trucks, workshops and facilities as directed in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems documentation.
- Drive a positive team culture and ensure crew safety compliance to our SHMS.
- Assist and lead the crew in General Maintenance, Breakdowns, Services and Component Change outs.
- Ensure completion of periodical Statutory Electrical Testing/ Inspections within required timeframes.
- Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems.
- Open and close work orders, order parts and monitor component strategies.
- Perform basic maintenance planning.
Roster & Conditions
- 7 on 7 off rotating shift roster
- 12.5 hour day shift
- Permanent position
- Camp Accommodation provided
- A bus will be provided from Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Yeppoon & Maryborough
- Flights from Brisbane available
OUR REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this role you are required to have:
- Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate
- Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & AS/NZS 3007
- Experienced in high voltage equipment maintenance
- Post-trade experience working in the Mining industry with diesel electric haul trucks, preferably Liebherr and/or Komatsu.
- Experience conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure
- Statement of Attainment for HV Switching
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Familiarity with Maintenance Management systems (JDE/SAP)
- Good base level skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
