ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will assist with maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all plant, equipment, and buildings on site, whilst adhering to the legislative and organisational OHS requirements.

ROLE

  • Ensure a safe system of work, adequately controlling all workplace hazards, and ensuring compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory legislation.
  • Ensure that all electrical work being undertaken has been appropriately risk assessed
  • Adheres to the relevant policies and procedures within the organisation.
  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns using advanced problem-solving techniques and conduct repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Design and build electrical control systems.
  • Install and commission new electrical systems.
  • Contribute to a program of continual process improvements with regards to electrical works.
  • Participate in the development and execution of the site electrical preventative maintenance via the computerised maintenance management system.
  • Inputs data in the computerised maintenance management system.
  • Ensure own safety and health at work and avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person through any act or omission at work.
  • Ensure that all works have been appropriately risk assessed to ensure the safety of the task.
  • Independently work on all site-wide electrical processes and equipment including confined spaces and working at heights.
  • Possess a sound understanding of all electrical equipment within the refinery.
  • Assist in installing and commissioning electrical works in new equipment and projects.
  • Report electrical incidents as per DMIRS process.

ABOUT YOU

  • Recognised Australian Trade Certificate as an Electrician and a Current Western Australian A-Grade Electrical Licence.
  • CPR/LV Rescue.
  • Working at Heights Trained and High-Risk Licence.
  • Confined Space entry and work trained.
  • Willing to obtain PLC training and qualifications for future upgrade of equipment and repairs.
  • Fire Extinguisher Training.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial, industrial, and domestic electrical installation techniques, and
  • Demonstrated experience performing RCD testing and electrical testing and tagging.
  • 3 years site experience on all aspects of repair and service.
  • Has shown impeccable work ethic and time management,
  • Great attitude and willingness for continual improvement.
  • Good understanding of Induction furnace coil inspection, earth leakage device, and control system.
