Electrical Primary Technician

We are currently seeking full time qualified Primary Technicians with experience in HV/LV Substation maintenance and fault finding within the industrial and manufacturing sectors, including installation works for various projects. Asset Power Solutions require skilled technicians looking to be part of a strong growing team with a good culture and a large amount of future works on the horizons for a growing business.

In this role, you will be working throughout the Brisbane region carrying out HV/LV maintenance and fault finding on various manufacturing equipment and installations from Mining, Industrial, Commercial, Retail & Government Sectors

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A current QLD Electrical Fitter/Mechanic licence.
• White/Blue Construction Induction card.
• Experience in high voltage and low voltage installations(desirable)
• Be able to fault find with electrical drawings.
• Experience in transformers, protection relays, HV Switchgear and LV switchgear (desirable)
• A current manual QLD drivers licence.
• Current CPR & LVR certificate.
• Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000.
• Proficient testing and commissioning of installation works.
• Experience with complex installation works.
• HV Switching certificate desirable.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Excellent customer relations and time keeping.
• A team player approach.
• A flexible attitude.

Technical responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Commissioning, testing and maintaining HV primary plant including power transformers & HV Cables.
• Basic secondary system testing and fault finding.
• Assist in preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, test plans and create detailed technical reports on completion of works.
• Carry out JSAs or CTAs prior to commencing any new works in order to identify hazards and implement the necessary controls.
