The Mt Cuthbert Group is a privately owned, Australian-based copper and gold producer with extensive exploration assets in NW Queensland. Mt Cuthbert Group acquired the Leichhardt Project in 2013, located at the remote Mount Cuthbert Mine, near the township of Kajabbi, North West Queensland, and situated approx. 110km north east of Mount Isa. In 2020, the group acquired the Rocklands site, approx. 17kms west of Cloncurry. This year will see further projects coming on line for both Rocklands and Crusader.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible to lead and manage the day to day activities of the electrical team who are committed to ensuring the very best in internal service is delivered to back to the business.
This position provides for the safe and effective maintenance and servicing of fixed plant and associated equipment and general maintenance on the mine site in accordance with statutory requirements and company standards.

You must love variety. Your time will be spent supervising the electrical maintenance activities for the Rocklands Operation (fixed-plant) and providing safe and understandable work instructions, together with suitable spare parts coordinated timely manner in order to maximise resources, equipment and infrastructure in a cost effective and safe manner.
You are a team player. You will possess a proactive and committed leadership approach to maintenance. You will provide expert mentoring and guidance to the electrical maintenance team and contribute to the operations of the Rocklands site.
Your highly developed interpersonal skills will mean you have the ability to communicate effectively across all levels and most importantly, you will influence and motivate the team providing improvement ideas in areas such as safety, cost, productivity and efficiency.
Your great PC skills will mean you will be responsible for your own administration, the implementation of systems and you will have the resolve to be self directed and work unsupervised when required.
To be successful you will need to have:
- PLC and SCADA experience
- HV switching ticket
- EWP ticket
- Forklift ticket
- AC split system ticket (not essential)
- Working at heights
- Risk assessment training or current mine induction
- Knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 as updated
- Knowledge and understanding of copper mining and processing in particular flotation plant
- Experience in a similar role with transferrable skills
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Manual drivers licence

The role is offered as a 15/13 FIFO position from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns or DIDO Mt Isa or Cloncurry with meals and accommodation provided at the Cloncurry camp. For those choosing to live in Cloncurry, a residential allowance applies.
