Position Overview:
As an Electrical Technician at JHT, you will assemble control panels from electrical schematics in our workshop, install and commission special-purpose machinery at local sites, attend breakdowns at local sites, and work closely with our electrical designers and software engineers.
Your responsibilities as an electrician technician will be diverse. When responding to breakdowns, you must troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently and implement necessary repairs while adhering to safety regulations.
In the workshop, you will collaborate with the team to assemble and wire electrical panels. Your expertise in reading electrical schematics and drawings will be essential for accurately installing and connecting components, and thorough testing will ensure proper functionality.
During new installations, you will follow project specifications and electrical codes, layout wiring routes, install conduits and wiring, and connect and test electrical devices, fixtures, and equipment.
Working alongside apprentices, you will share your knowledge and experience, providing guidance and support during their training. Promoting safe work practices, adherence to regulations, and a strong work ethic will contribute to their growth as electricians.
We expect you to:
Have the qualifications below:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
- NSW electrical license or current Australian electrical license
- White card
- NSW Drivers Licence
To have the Experience & Skills below:
- Proven experience in assembling electrical control systems
- Extensive knowledge of reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- PLC experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or others
- Previous experience in industrial environment desired
- Experience in Site work desired, e.g. Equipment maintenance
- Ability to interpret standards of electrical wiring, cabling, electrical and electronic components.
- Proficient with tools and problem-solving abilities
- Fault finding and electrical testing
- Ability to job plan and complete necessary documentation
