Suitable candidates are sought to fill an Electrical Tradesperson position at Pioneer Mill to join the Rolling Stock Team. This position has elements of shift work during the crushing season, and day work during the maintenance season.
In this position you will gain a range of electrical work and experience within the Mobile Plant & Communication systems area. This position requires a reasonable amount of overtime and some weekend work.
Position Description
The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the identification of the scope of work required
- Troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and fault reporting
- Provide a maintenance service to other Mill departments that involves the completion of planned and unplanned maintenance and capital projects safely, on time and to the required standard
- Be a role model for apprentices within the team
- Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests equipment within training level providing it is legal, logical and safe to do so
- Ensure work orders and related permits are completed and filled out correctly
- Operate in a work-based team environment and participate in other teams and panels as required
- Compliance with all safety procedures, safe work instructions, legislation and rules
- Available for call outs or overtime
- Work within a small but multi skilled team to keep mobile plant in a safe and reliable condition
- Assist in servicing and maintaining mobile plant and Rolling Stock equipment
Experience Required
- Trade qualification - Certificate III in Electrical Engineering
- QLD Electrical fitter/mechanic licence
The ideal candidate may have:
- A commitment to continuous improvement including safety and environment
- Current LVR/CPR
- Confined Space and Working at Heights
- Experience with Schneider Electric PLC
- Good Communication skills - Written, Spoken, Listening
- Proven self-starter attributes, self-motivated with highly developed organisational skills
- Ability to guide, communicate and support others, and work in a team environment
- Instrumentation experience would be desirable
- A genuine interest in mobile plant and control communication systems
