Electrician

About the Role
An Electrician at Essity will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production and distribution facilities. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical systems, be safety-conscious, and possess the ability to troubleshoot and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment and systems.
What You Will Do
Electrical Maintenance: Perform routine electrical maintenance on production and distribution equipment to ensure their reliability and optimal performance.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, including but not limited to, electrical panels, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and Robots.
Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
Equipment Installation: Install new electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, ensuring they meet local electrical codes and regulations.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment to minimize downtime and extend their operational life.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics.
Maintains records as required including printing Work Orders, assigning parts, recording history, raising supplementary work orders, closing out work orders in SAP
Perform duties and work assigned on a daily schedule to a high standard in 5S, safety, environment and quality requirements. Ensuring the root cause of the problems are addressed
Keep in communication with store room personnel to update them on gaps, low inventories and all aspects relating to spare parts and replacement inventory
Assist in planning and scoping future work as requested and included in the daily schedule
Performing tests to identify problems, maintain systems and calibrate equipment to an identified performance standard.
Participate in and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement among colleagues by encouraging suggestions, ideas and the use of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to improve equipment reliability, availability, maintainability and Safety
Perform predictive, preventive, corrective and proactive maintenance on all equipment as assigned
Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance and operations teams to ensure seamless production processes.
Upgrades: Assist in upgrading electrical systems and components to improve efficiency and reliability.
Emergency Response: Be available for emergency electrical repairs and respond promptly to resolve issues.

To be considered for this role, you will possess:
Minimum A Grade Electrician
Proven experience as an Electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with knowledge of local electrical regulations in Victoria, Australia.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and regulations, particularly those specific to Victoria.
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and diagrams.
Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, robots and other control systems.
Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
Working knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, SAP preferred
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, including a deep understanding of local safety standards.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
